How can I Be Forgiven of My Sin?

Receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior is the most important decision you will ever make. If you have never made this decision, please allow us to share the "Good News" of salvation with you. Jesus Christ is God's free gift of eternal life to us (Eph. 2:8,9).

Salvation from sins the cross of Christ

Because of our sin and the Lord's sentence of death against all sins, we are unfit and incapable of attaining  Heaven (Rom. 2:23, 6:23). In His love God provided His Son as a sacrifice for our sin (Rom. 5:8). The Gospel announces the debt of death has already been paid and shows its reality by Christ's resurrection from the dead (I Cor. 15:20-22). A person's sincere heart-felt response in repentance of sin before a Holy God and of trust towards Jesus Christ as Savior brings the gift of eternal life (Rom. 10:9,10). We know that this is a personal decision: we would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Please contact us. We are here to be of assistance.

  • How should I dress?
Dress is not what we emphasize at Grace Bible Church. Some wear suits, some dress in business casual, so come in whatever you feel comfortable wearing and we'll see you this Sunday.
  • What denomination is Grace Bible Church?
None! A Bible church is a body of believers who hold to the historic doctrines of the Christian faith revealed in the Holy Bible. It is a church characterized by the belief in the independence and autonomy of the local church, the priesthood of all believers, the baptism only of believers by immersion in water, and the principle of the separation of church and state. An independent Bible church is not affiliated with any ecclesiastical organization of hierarchy. It is, therefore, governed by its own Constitution, which is approved and amended by its own membership.
  • Do I have to come to Sunday School?
Absolutely not. While we feel Sunday School is an integral part of our church program, each service is stand-alone, meaning you can come to any service.
  • How old is Grace Bible Church?
We were established in 1974 by a group of Christians who didn’t have an appropriate place to worship.
  • What about my children?
We have children’s programs for every age. We provide a fully equipped nursery with trained care givers. We also have Sunday School for each age group. Additionally, we have a Jr. Church program during the preaching portion of the worship service of elementary aged children.
  • How much do I need to give?
Nothing! No, seriously, nothing is expected from our visitors. We don't even take an offering during the service. Grace Bible Church is completely supported by the offerings of our membership through voluntary giving. We will never expect, pressure, or guilt visitors into giving.
  • I have a lot of issues. Will I be accepted?
Absolutely you will. We are all sinners who fall short of the glory of God! No one is above the need for God’s grace in their lives. Grace Bible Church desires to meet people “where they are” and point you to the Savior, Jesus Christ.
  • Where do I go when I visit?
We have ample parking near the main double door entrance. After arriving go up the steps where you will be greeted and assisted by one of our friendly greeters. They will gladly give you a visitors card (please fill it out and return to the greeter, who will present you with a small gift thanking you for attending. They will help you find a seat and/or guide you to the appropriate children's activities. There is no reserved seating so don't worry about sitting in someones "space." We know that visiting a new church can be an awkward and stressful event and we want you to know that you will not be required to stand and won't be put into an awkward or embarrassing situation. Do do not take an offering during the services so you don't need to feel pressured to give either. Grace Bible is composed of working class people who desire to worship the Lord together, regardless of our social status. If you have any questions concerning your visit, fell free to contact Pastor Mike via email or leave a message on the church phone.
  • Do you have a nursery for my children?
Yes! We have a fully furnished nursery for the young ones. Our staff are vetted and trained to provide excellent care for your children during the services. Advise the greeter that you need child care and they will gladly assist.
Grace Bible Church Elmer doctrine doctrinal statement
  • We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, supernaturally inspired so that it is without error in the original transcripts. It has been preserved by God and is the divinely established authority and standard for faith and practice.
  • We believe that the Godhead exists eternally in three persons- The Father, The Son and the The Holy Spirit- and that these are one God.
  • We believe that God is the creator of the universe.
  • We believe that God, by his sovereign choice out of love for men, sent Christ into the world to die for the sins of all.
  • We believe that Jesus was crucified and died as a penalty for our sins and was raised from the dead bodily on the third day. He later ascended to the Father's right hand where He is the Head of the Church and the Intercessor for believers. We believe He will one day call for His church and ultimately come again to earth bodily to establish His millennial kingdom.
  • We believe that by His death, the Lord Jesus  made perfect atonement for sin. His death provides a way for all to be saved from eternal death and separation from God. We believe, that in order to be saved, one must trust Christ as the only acceptable sacrifice for his sin. Salvation is received by faith in Christ alone, entirely apart from works.
  • We believe that a believer is eternally secure- but that sin may interrupt the joy of fellowship with God and bring the loving discipline of the Heavenly Father.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, and that He is God, possessing all the divine attributes. He indwells, baptizes and seals all believers at the moment of their salvation and fills them in response to confession of sin and yieldedness of life.
  • We believe that it is the goal of every true believer to grow spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God and surrender to the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Our History

Where We've Come From

Grace Bible Church 1976 History
Grace Bible  is truly a vivid testimony of God's grace and faithfulness. Following the Lord's leading, several families met for the Bible Studies and prayer meetings, held in homes. The first Sunday Services began June 2, 1974.
From homes to school buildings, believers met together until the Lord provided for the establishment of the present church building. The congregation moved into the new church home on March 13, 1977. Since then, the Lord has allowed Grace Bible the privilege of ministering to families throughout the South Jersey area.

Where We Are Going

The future is bright at Grace Bible Church. We are not content to rest on the wonderful grace that the Lord has shown us these past fifty years
Grace Bible Church Elmer
but are anxiously working to see God's glory manifest in South Jersey in the future. We are actively ministering to children, teens, adults/families, and senior citizens in order to lead them to a closer walk with Jesus Christ. It is our privilege to be able to serve the king of kings today and tomorrow. We would be honored to have you come and be a part of our fellowship and be a part of tomorrow's history today.
